Training of External Reviewers for Programme Accreditation and Institutional Audit was held on 22 and 23rd January 2017. A total of 43 participants from among nearly 50 who applied for this training, participated in the training session which was conducted in two groups on two separate dates.
The main purpose of the workshop was to train a pool of potential External Reviewers to familiarize with the new quality assurance guidelines and to develop capacity and capability of higher education practitioners to take up the role of External Reviewers. The training focused on the role of External Reviewers in both Programme Accreditation and Institutional Audit processes which will become part of the MQA External Quality Assurance process. The training was conducted in a very practical manner with simulated role paly activities in small groups designed to enhance greater understanding of the processes and steps in external reviewing.
The workshop was conducted with the support granted by the World Bank Project at the Ministry of Education. The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Ahmed Ali Maniku, Consultant to Maldives Qualifications Authority, Dr. Mahmood Shougee and Former CEO of MQA Dr. Abdul Hannan Waheed.
The sessions were held at the Central Administration Building classrooms of The National University of the Maldives.
