Programme Accreditation is one of the major functions of
Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA). Before conducting an academic
programme that fits a qualification of the Maldives National Qualifications
Framework (MNQF), all the higher education providers (universities, colleges,
institutes) in the Maldives, must obtain programme accreditation from MQA by
submitting the required application form and the programme document developed
based on the “Guidelines for Programme Accreditation”.
Programme Accreditation process is carried out with
legislative power through the “Maldives Higher Education and Training Act” as
well as the “Regulation for Programme Accreditation” and the “Guidelines for Programme
Accreditation”.
